St Clement's Church of England Primary School

Head Teachers Welcome

On behalf of our children, staff and governors, welcome to St Clement’s Church of England Primary School.  We hope that our website will give you an introduction to school life at St Clement’s.

St Clement’s school family is unique and special, with a community passionate about providing the best primary education for its children.  Our Christian school is set along the east coast of the Isle of Sheppey.  Leysdown is a beautiful, remote part of the country with award winning beaches and our school is fortunate to boast views overlooking the farmlands and home of several horses that gallop its perimeter.

We flourish together, celebrating our individual talents and embracing the opportunities our environment provides us.  We have opportunities to learn through our environment with our forest school and vast grounds, annual visits from nesting ducks and rare breeds such as Oyster Catchers.

As Headteacher of this school, I am privileged to work with a committed and talented group of children, staff, parents and governors. We have recently introduced Reader’s Theatre and White Rose Maths Booklets which has inspired children to develop a greater love of reading and maths. Reader’s Theatre has encouraged oracy, so that the children can express themselves with increasing confidence and a more extensive vocabulary.  Using booklets in maths has freed up some learning time so that we can focus on building confidence with arithmetic and developing our mathematical knowledge – best of all the children love them and teacher workload has been reduced!

Being part of Aquila enables us to continually learn and grow within a team of schools, developing talented staff and providing opportunities for collaboration and competition across the Trust. Being part of Aquila enables our school to be outward facing, driving strength and unity in an everchanging educational system and enabling Aquila schools to strive for successful outcomes for all pupils across its multi-faceted Kent schools.

Our curriculum and pastoral care ensure that all members of our community feel valued and strive to achieve their dreams:

‘For nothing will be impossible without God.’ Luke 1:37

Our Christian values encourage all of our community to be supportive and tolerant of one another in God’s image.  We celebrate one another’s differences and successes, so that everyone feels valued and can grow in self-belief and self-worth.  We aim to nurture each individual, so that they develop the resilience needed to continue beyond the classroom, as life-long learners and global citizens.  Our school’s vision underpins everything that we do and is further strengthen by our Christian values of truth, love, forgiveness, courage and respect.

Please contact the school office if you would like to visit our school in person.
